What are the best fitness apps for men?

I’m looking for recommendations on fitness apps that are ideal for men. I’ve tried a few, but none seem to fit my goals. Can anyone share apps that work well for strength, endurance, or even nutrition tracking?

For strength, endurance, and nutrition? Man, you’re asking for a lot in one app, and most apps are good at one thing but not the whole package. BUT, here goes a breakdown in case you wanna juggle a few:

  1. StrongLifts 5x5 - Super simple and no fluff. If you’re tryna get big and strong, it’s all about progressive overload. Only downside: kinda boring, no bells and whistles, and you’re literally just lifting heavy over and over. Works though.

  2. Nike Training Club - This one has like EVERYTHING. Bodyweight, dumbbells, endurance stuff… even yoga if you feel like pretending you’re flexible. Good for variety but not specialized.

  3. MyFitnessPal - FOOOD tracking bro. It sounds like a hassle but trust me, most guys fail at gains because they eat like birds. You can track macros here + log cheat days when you devour a pizza.

  4. Fitbod - Tailors workouts to YOUR gym equipment which is a game changer. Makes you feel fancy even when the app just sticks to basic lifting principles nicely.

  5. Centr - Yes, it’s Chris Hemsworth’s app. Yes, it’s overpriced. But if you’ve got the cash, sweet mix of workouts, meal plans, and mental wellness.

  6. Zwift - For bikes. Men love bikes. I dunno why. Maybe you’re a closet cyclist?

  7. JEFIT - If you’re a data nerd, this tracks all your sets/reps. No frills but solid for hardcore gym dudes.

Tbh, you’ll probably end up switching apps anyway 'cause no app is perfect, but at least there’s something for every goal above. Just pick one you won’t ignore after day three.

Man, fitness apps are a real mixed bag, huh? Seems like @espritlibre covered a lot of solid ones, but I gotta disagree with all-in-one apps like Centr being worth that price tag unless you wanna look at Hemsworth’s face for inspiration. Here’s my take on this:

  1. If you’re into endurance specifically, Strava is top-tier. It’s more cycling and running-focused but has a killer community vibe. Nothing fires you up like seeing Jerry from down the street destroy your route time. Oh, and the data tracking is sweet too. Makes you feel legit even if you’re just trotting through a park.

  2. For strength (and assuming you’re not into counting sets like a robot with JEFIT), try Trainerize. It’s more about having custom plans, and you can even connect with actual trainers. Not as DIY as StrongLifts, but if you need more direction, it works.

  3. Nutrition apps? I’m lowkey over MyFitnessPal. Everyone hypes it, but why does it feel like a chore? Give Cronometer a shot. It’s good for really figuring out your macros, vitamins, and all that health nerd stuff. That said, some of us just need a simple “eat more protein” reminder.

  4. Oh, and if you’re bad at sticking to stuff (be honest), consider Habitica. Not your usual app—it gamifies habits. Wanna be a gym knight slaying biceps dragons? Cool, log every workout, level up, and stop skipping leg day. Weird but fun.

  5. Lastly, for something unique, go old-school with You Are Your Own Gym. It’s bodyweight-focused, perfect if you want strength without needing 40 different dumbbells lying around.

Whatever app you pick, don’t stress too much about the bells and whistles. Most apps are just tools; you still gotta show up and do the work. No app magically gets you jacked (trust me, I’ve searched).
